Office Hours

The DoIT Research Computing Team hosts office hours to help navigate user environments and research workflows on the chip HPC cluster.

Drop-in Office Hours

Starting September 2026, you can find us in Engineering 233I. You can find a list of all upcoming office hours here, or note our recurring schedule:

Week of the Month Day of the Week Time
First and Third Wednesdays 1:00 PM–2:00 PM
Second and Fourth Thursdays 10:00 AM–11:00 AM

How to Prepare

To help us assist you as efficiently as possible, we recommend coming prepared with the following information:

  • A clear description of the issue: Be ready to explain what you are trying to achieve and where the process is failing.
  • Documentation: Have your job scripts, error logs, or specific error messages ready to share.
  • Active Tickets: If you have already submitted a support request, please bring the ticket number or any previous correspondence.

Office Hours By Appointment

These meetings will be held either on Google Meet or in person in ENGR 233i. Requestors are expected to be prepared with clear question(s) or an example workflow ending in an undesired result. Understand that some issues will not be possible to resolve immediately or in one session.

You may sign up for an office hour slot; however, an RT ticket must be submitted ahead of any office hour appointment (to send a help ticket, follow this link below):

Some RT tickets might be resolved in an office hour session. If there is an RT ticket associated with your office hour meeting request, please reference it in the sign-up form.
